Because of the terrible weather, yesterday was the first day I’ve been able to get out and start knocking on doors. A huge thank you to Board President Lisa Borowski who walked with me and supported me. She’s working to bring a fresh sense of civility to the Board, and getting to spend the afternoon with her was educational (and fun! She’s a hoot.)
The residents we talked to had diverse concerns, but one theme was constant: not one of them was aware that the general election for Ward One Commissioner takes place on May 15, 2018. Because this is a special election, there is no primary for the spot, and there will be no general election for the Ward 1 and Ward 7 Commissioner seats in November. If you don’t come out and vote on May 15, 2018, you will not get to vote for Township Commissioner until 2019.
